I went out to see "The Village", and i must admit I think it is Shamalyan's best film yet...
    1. Great premise
    2. Good writing
    3. I didn't see it coming...(watch it and you'll know what I mean).
    What do you think?

We in England don;t get it for three weeks yet.

And please, to anyone who's even thinking of it-Don't put up spoilers.

I already know I'm going to be disappointed with the twist. From what I've heard, things really AREN'T what they seem.

Damn Shyamalan, he always gets me excited. Don't know what anyone else thinks, but this month, Empire put him in the same bracket as Hitchcock, Spielberg and Mann. Slightly overstepping it I think, but who knows-In fifty years time, will people still be talking about The Sixth Sense?

His movies never have the greatest stories but the way he tells what he shows is excellent....I think 6th sense is the best story, but i men look at signs, there wasn't much of a story or anything happening until a while through the film.

Empire gave it a very good review. I trust them, so, who knows?

I'm looking to be entertained with this movie. It's not like when I bought La Haine and expected my outlook on movie directing to be changed, I'm just looking to be entertained, and, maybe even, a little frightened.

Oh, and La Haine totally changed my outlook on directing. That skyward shot over the cite (or council estate to those who have no idea what a cite or The Project's are) is, IMO, one of the best shots in cinema. Period.

Yeah Empire are trust worthy, I have heard mixed comments about this film... Although the film maker seem to think its good where as the non film maker or wannabes who know nothing say it's crap... interesting.

I'd be curious to see what Stuart Little woulda been if Minoj directed it too, not just writing the screenplay.

If I had to put in order his films from best to not so great it would be:
    The Sixth Sense
    The Village
    Signs
    Unbreakable
    Wide Awake

The Village is an excellant movie. I think everyone should go see it. It's also one of the most beautifully lit films I've seen.
